Eco-Friendly Email Data Centers

Even your email is going green. Well, not quite – unless you have a Kermit the Frog theme for your Gmail – but Net Atlantic, a leading email hosting company based in Salem, MA, announced last week that they have implemented several eco-friendly features while updating their data center.

The new 40,000 square foot data center – which serves some of the biggest companies in Boston – was designed with energy consumption and conversation in mind. Features include a heat-deflecting white roof, raised floors to optimize cooling power and an applied vapor barrier that controls humidity throughout the building.

Net Atlantic Vice President Wes Owen said the changes will allow his company to provide the best email hosting features, including email privacy and reliability, while helping the environment.

“Because our products are entirely Internet-based, we depend on secure, reliable data centers to help provide exceptional service to our customers,” he said. “And when those facilities are also green, we all benefit.”
