Much like sales of laptops have begun to outpace desktops in recent years, many hardcore gamers are turning away from the traditional gaming PC to consider more portable options. While gaming desktops have been common in the marketplace for years, it’s only more recently that we have seen laptops built to similar specs. That is largely thanks to the rapid advancements in microtechnology, allowing for laptop gaming computers that can perform as well or sometimes even better than their desktop brethren.
The one thing to keep in mind is that the advantages of a gaming laptop aren’t necessarily the same as those you’d get if you were purchasing a more standard laptop for everyday computing. While many users choose laptops that are small and light for easy portability, a laptop built to match the performance of a custom gaming PC is going to be larger, heavier, and more expensive.
